Job Description

  • We require a Technical Support Specialist to assist with supporting predominantly all of the exclusive brands.
  • The required skill set and experience will be first-and-foremost audio-based (commercial audio rather than large live sound) – this is a non-negotiable… There will be an advantage for this individual to be conversant with video switching/distribution and also RS232/Ethernet control protocols similar to AMX/Crestron.
  • There would be three aspects to the role – Technical Support & Design, Training and Commissioning.
  • We would like the individual to have an understanding of how commercial audio systems are designed, be comfortable with designing systems from (very often vague) specifications in order to issue the internal commercial team with a complete kit list of equipment that will work together for us to then propose to our clients.
  • The candidate should be well-organised and particularly proud of their attention-to-detail
  • The candidate would ideally have a working knowledge of Stardraw and be comfortable issuing technical documentation for larger integrated solutions.
  • You would have full-use of the demonstration facility and would likely be partly targeted on how many days of customer training they complete in a given month.
  • You would be expected to perform demonstrations, site visits with (and sometimes without) customers and/or internal commercial staff in a support role or for commissioning purposes, so the ability to make an audio system sound excellent is a requirement.
  • The candidate will need to have excellent IP Networking skills as more and more of the product range sits on networks.
  • The role would be partly office-based in Harlow headquarters so the location is fairly important.
  • More than anything, this is a close-knit team so the ability to ‘personality fit’ is almost as important as your technical ability – someone to join the team who will be able to slip into the culture of the business and be proactive in making this role a real value-add in a highly competitive market.
  • Salary would likely be in the £25K-£32K region for the right candidate with some performance/company-related KPIs along with training to CTS-D – I would be the hiring manager and would be the candidate’s line manager too.
