Audio Visual Technician

Job Description


The Building Support Audio-Visual Technician, under the supervision of the Operations Manager, performs a variety of tasks with lighting, computer presentations, audio-visual equipment and data connections for meetings, school sessions, press events, and special events.  The position also assists  with  maintenance  projects,  equipment  repairs,  and  clerical  tasks  as  directed.  Works weekends, holidays and with early/late schedules as required.  

[b]Major Job Requirements[/b]

Transport, set up, operate, trouble shoot and break down audio-visual and eventing equipment that includes but is not limited to power supplies, DVD players, CD Players, thumb drives, video monitors, video disk players, slide projectors, audio support items such as graphic equalizers, power amplifiers, mixing boards, lighting, microphones, wireless microphones, lighting control and dimmer board units, video cameras, speakers and other equipment rented from various suppliers for meetings, classroom needs and special events at the California Science Center.  Additional set up of tables, chairs, wall washing lights, gobos, décor, rigging and odd event components.
