AVC Systems Engineer
Design and Production, Inc. is seeking a seasoned AVC Systems Engineer to supplement our ever expanding team of professionals. (Short term 6 month contracts shall also considered)
Candidate must possess five to seven years + of extensive design and creative experience in the Audio Visual or Entertainment Industry commercial systems field.
Possess Audio Visual design compilation skills to develop AVC equipment, rack and exhibit layouts, backbone networking and electrical infrastructure requirements also schematics as part of Engineering Design Package delivery.
Perform site surveys, field coordination trips and have the ability to generate from the designs a Bill of Materials (BOM), oversee design reviews, change requests, value engineering assessment, and support for projects from inception through integration phases.
Candidate will have practical and theoretical knowledge of electronic circuits, video projection and lensing dynamics, multi- screen and blending systems equipment and design applications, flat panel digital display and touch systems, routing and processing of audio, video and control systems, signal distribution, audio systems, amplifiers 8 ohm /70V also spacial sound fill and balance technique, IT infrastructures, networks, switches, servers, racking, commercial low voltage cabling, fiber, connections, terminations, and mechanical interactive components. Visio, AutoCAD or equal related drafting experience for project design delivery and shop or field construction to assist other trades. Knowledge of electrical circuits an advantage plus application or aptitudes for R&D design build projects.

Preferred Certifications: ICIA CTS-D or higher industry Certified or equivalent
Professional Audio DSP Certification – Qsys, Biamp or Equal
Professional Video Matrix Switching Systems
Audio Visual Signal Flow Design Management
Control System Layout experience – Medialon, AMX, Crestron
Control System Programming a Plus or basic understanding of process
IT Network infrastructures or basic set up requirements a plus
Win XP, OS X, Linux, Python, Pidora, OpenElec or similar Linux Variants a plus
BS/BA and 2-4 years or 7+ years of work experience in lieu of Degree
Basic Project Management experience skills dealing with crews, customers and other trades for coordination
Basic or better understanding knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, have and continue to maintain a safe driving
record. Have a Personable attitude, Self-Starter, Self-Motivated and most of all a Team Player. Travel expectancy infrequent but minimum of 1-3 weeks during major project development for surveys, project meetings and site reviews that may occur.
Commercial Lighting experience is a plus.
