ABOUT THIS JOB:

The job is a hybrid of strong technical knowledge and field experience. We have a strong sense of design and a clean and beautiful aesthetic. Design Associates are responsible for making the vision of the client a reality.  From a simple party to a huge gala we apply the same standards to make every event a success.

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Assist Design Managers in the field to insure a flawless and beautiful installation of event lighting, audio and video equipment
  • Maintain a superior level of cleanliness for all installation aspects (cable management, dress kits, light covers etc.)
  • Support Design Managers and other crew for install and strike
  • Installation and operation of any of the following:
  • Audio: stage audio, mics, mixers, amp racks, speakers, FOH, mixing, wireless mic coordination
  • Video: projection screens, LCD and DLP projections, plasmas, seamless video switchers, computers (Power Point, Keynote etc.)
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with upscale, superior standards of quality
  • A developed eye for detail, design and ability to complete tasks thoroughly and efficiently
  • Clean, professional appearance and demeanor
  • Audio and/or Video experience, meeting some or all of the following industry experience:
  • Digital and analog mixing consoles (Berhinger X32)
  • Digital audio console routing
  • Wireless and wired microphone setups
  • Wired and wireless communication systems
  • RF management software
  • Routing and Networking
  • Soldering
  • HD Video Switchers (Analog Way Pulse 2)
  • Fast-Fold screens
  • Video Mapping software
  • Projectors – 3K to 30K
  • HD-SDI, HDMI, DVI & VGA distribution systems
  • Presentation hardware & software

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in fast paced, upscale organization
  • Previous Event/Production/Hospitality experience a must
  • Basic knowledge of circuit loads and lighting equipment
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to work in team environment
  • Detail-oriented, bordering on obsessive compulsive anal retentive, with strong organizational skills, and the ability to work hard and use technology effectively
  • Flexibility to work mostly long, late hours and weekends
  • Positive attitude, with the ability to deal with stressful situations, relationships, and individuals using professional judgment and tact
  • Self-directed and motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and multitask to deliver with time constraints and make an event happen no matter what it takes

 

EXTRA POINTS FOR:

  • Experience driving 16-24 ft. trucks
  • Experience in audio or video

 

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY: 

  • On-call / event based
  • Nights/Late Hours/Weekends

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds
  • Continual standing and/or walking without limitations up to 10 hours daily
  • Ability to work in an environment that may be noisy, unheated, and not air conditioned
  • Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
