Job Description General Description: This is a mid-level technical position involving responsibility for working directly with students and staff with troubleshooting computer and network issues, installing hardware and desktop operating software, assisting with creating and deploying workstation images, troubleshooting hardware failures and making repairs as needed. Involves general administration of Local Area Networks and multiple Directory Services (Active Directory, Mail, Google Administration, and Mobile Device Management (MDM)). Duties: -Answers helpdesk phone and email requests, resolves issues and follows up with customers -Diagnoses and repairs problems associated with hardware, software and/or the network, that impact client devices -Installs and maintains hardware and peripheral equipment on the data network, including PC's, Macs, printers, iPads, Chromebooks, Android tablets, scanners, Smart boards, projectors, network cameras, and other emerging devices - Troubleshoots wireless network access points and systems, coordinates with outside support -Researches and installs new networked hardware and software for client computers -Performs setup and administrative tasks of user and device management in multiple Directory Services (Active Directory, MS Exchange, Google Mail, Google Admin Console) -Researches, designs and maintains desktop/device, anti-virus and user security policies for network, pc's, Macs, mobile devices, Android and Chrome devices -Assists with research, design and implementation of automated workflows to create efficiencies in networked software updates and fixes -Installs and configures hardware and software for client computers/devices -Performs hardware repairs such as replacing keyboards, screens, system boards, power supplies, etc. -Coordinates with hardware and software vendors to address issues -Helps to maintain accurate inventory records of all IT Department equipment and software installations -Tests and produces documentation for supported hardware and software systems and processes -Performs preventative maintenance and updates to computers/mobile devices, other hardware and software -Cleans and inspects equipment -Analyzes potential problems and takes corrective action -Uses database to track and record helpdesk requests and solutions -Other duties as assigned Job Qualifications: Must meet Yates County civil service requirements. Required Skills (Marcus Whitman) Associate's Degree or higher in computer science, computer information systems, networking, telecommunications or closely related field with 15 hours in Computer Science AND a total of two years of experience in the following computer related areas: Helpdesk support for windows systems management; mobile device management; Apple and iOS systems management; telecommunications; IT customer support and training; computer installation, hardware diagnosis and repair; technical writing; computer security OR High school or equivalent diploma AND four years full-time paid experience as noted above NOTE: Possession of A+ or other Certification may be deemed to be equivalent to one year of experience -Minimum 2 years Microsoft Active Directory management or comparable Microsoft certification -Minimum 2 years experience using Google Apps or comparable Google certification -A+ Hardware Certification or comparable skills & experience -Possession of a valid New York State Driver's license is required at the time of appointment, and must be maintained in good standing throughout employment in the position Category: Technology , Keywords: MS Exchange Administrator
